NAPFA @ Toa Payoh Stadium Standards

NAPFA TOA PAYOH STADIUM STANDARDS

Hmmmm, many conflicting views as to the standards of the NAPFA at Toa Payoh Stadium, so i guess i'll state this down to clarify with others who wish to take the NAPFA test to reduce their NS time by 2 months.

Firstly, you have to book the NAPFA test on ns.sg site. Secondly, you will need to get at least a NAPFA Silver, not a Bronze or Pass to get your reduction. Thirdly, if you wish to increase your chances of passing, try booking either the test on either the first or last week of the month, as the invigilators are normal civilians, not army PTIs, hence are more lenient.

There is also SIT and REACH included in the test. You can refer to the NAPFA website for their standards which vary according to Age.

Stations
- Pullups -
Contrary to popular belief, Underarm pullups are not allowed. Perhaps the PTI invigilator was strict, but its best to prepare for the worse case scenario. The PTI only allowed overhand pullups, IE, not using biceps. Minimum to get silver = 5.

-Shuttle run-
TIP: DO NOT STAND ON THE GRASS WHILE WAITING FOR YOUR TURN. The napfa is held in the morning, so there is dew and the grass makes you slip.

- Sit and Reach -
Put your shoulderblades against the board to maximise your stretch. PTIs slack in this station i think.

-Standing Broad Jump-
Mat seems to be shorter than the ippt training stations around HDB flats. but dont be complacent.

-Sit Ups-
Another testee will be counting for your when u do your situps, so it is easy to 'miscount'. almost everyone in this station got around 40 plus situps. Wow... everyone has 6 packs lol. However, if you are unlucky, you might have only afew people in your batch taking tha napfa, which makes it hard to cheat.

- 2.4 km run-
What can i say? train.... on the day itself, it is harder to run, as you will be tired from all the stations already. To train, run about 10 rounds at the stadium to increase your stamina, but say one week before your test, do run the actual 2.4 (6 ROUNDS OF STADIUM) to know where you stand.

The most important thing before taking the napfa is knowing where you stand, and having the confidence to take the test. Good Luck!

Hey guys, its already late October.... and my bday s coming up in nov 8.... but i cant be bothered celebrating it then, as its sort of the end of semester and all... so not many would be free, not to mention new wont be free either.... i was thinking if you guys are up for it, maybe we could take a short trip down to thailand or something, maybe for afew days.... but this would be say, late november to early december?

i was thinking of chilling at an island location for a couple of days, i recommend koh phi phi as i've been there... talking about budget, i'd say 3 persons per hotel room, so prolly $500 for 4 days to a week??

sigh, kinda wrong timing tho.... i feel bad as its like.... the start of a recession and here i am, thinking of taking holidays.....

had the worse fkin week... started off with my com on sat.. working fine until i stepped into the room.. then it turned off and fuked up...
MON- went to skool for my class from 2 to 5... they told me that it had been changed to 9 to 5 that morning.... they sent me an email regarding the changes THAT morning.. wtf...
TUE- went to buy a grapic card for com... bought graphic card but com still fucked...
WED- went to school n found out that i wasnt accepted for a certain module... have to do a bridging course....
THURS- found out that my murdoch cert and my high dip cert had dissapeared.. might have been thrown away... stressed out for the entire day
FRI-went to bugis to buy power supply and skool books.. bought the power supply and then found out I din have nuff money for skool books... Rushed home to get cash and rushed back again... reached there at 720 for them to tell me that the bookseller just pang kang... hong gan
FRI NIGHT- fixed com at Joe tans house and brought it back home...... where it fuked up again
SAT- carried the heavy com all the way back to Tan's house to fix.. found out that it was jsut a stupid error... ram clip got stuck under graphic card.... carried com back again.. 30 mins of lugging com back and forth for a small prob...... WTF AGAIN....

Thank God for the alcohol... it fights off the depression

The weekend was pretty good. Joe, Chan and I went shopping (nothing to do with fishing, no nature stuff involved, and no warhammer. heretic! no love for the emperor.)

And I caught Hana Yori Dango Final the movie. Shun &Shota *gush*

From the manga, to the anime, to taiwan's meteor garden, to japanese version, the korean version is said to be released early next year. and my favourite character Hanazawa Rui is rumoured to be played by SS501's Kim Hyun Joon.

Believe it or not, I made brunch today and I didnt burn anything (and i didnt mix up the salt and sugar or in joe's case msg) and I have proof. And there was Mac & Cheese, hard to screw up because it was instant and all instant food (maggie mee, soup.. etc) are usually the only things i can make (all that has changed now). And it was eaten by sober, sane people because the last time i remember when people actually ate my cooking of non-instant food, they were baked and they asked for seconds, haha.

i think the hardest part of kicking a habit is wanting to kick it,

at some point cross the line, too obsessive, compulsive, out of control.
it's the high we're chasing, the high that makes everything else fade away.
still, they say u don't kick the habit until u hit rock or bottom.

We settled for bubsmellsfunny.. for our unanimous love for Bubs..
We have come a long way.. a long the way.. well not THAAAT LONG... but yeah..
We've been though so much good times together..

hi everyone. u guys having fun at the hotel tonite and i won't be there becos xing's getting confined again. sucks! life in armour is still very shitty. they say we do things wif pride, the black beret, pple lookin at u, our standards being on par wif the commandos. but why must i go thru all these? why is BMT in tekong so slack? there's nothing called fairness in their dictionary.

abit late to post about perth since i been back in singapore for roughly 4 days :P but its all good..
i miss my house over there.. its sooo nice.. wen i was there last time.. didnt really notice.. although we didnt really stay much at home.. Ning , Joe , Xing & i..

First day 27th
The Boys and i woke up bright and early and went for a Jog :P to the fish n chip Store :) then walked back.. then Jas came over to pick us up to go out.. we Went out to Northbridge hanged around til quite late.. Gary sent us home.. (this part was a bit unsure thou) lol

Day 2 ( 28th)
I woke up on the Couch for some reason.. lol.. then went to my room and went back to sleep.. today was the day.. i was ment to go clubbing.. soo i stayed at home til late arvo.. becuase i was soooo tired :P then Xing , Ning and I , met up with the guys in Northbridge (meaning Jon , Jas , Jlo and Gary) to head over the metros.. which was quite fun.. saw heaps of people i havent seen in about 1 and half years soo was quite happy.. we left around 3.30am becuase jon and jas got kicked out :P but its all good.. Xing and ning went home.. while i went with the rest to go to jlo's place...

Day 3 ( 29th)
Woke up at around 11 didtn sleep that long anyways.. gary came down.. and i went with jas to pick up jon.. went to Bays Water.. to swim ..... :) then after that went to eat at Hana BBQ at APX.. then they dropped me off and Winthrop to meet up with Ning.. She was at Adimas's Place.. ( Xing Was with dan and Joe was with kieren i think ).. i got there.. Saw Austin.. Ben.. Adimas... etcc... then i got tired and went home quite early..

Day 4 ( 30th )
Monday.... i had to run to the bank early in the morning becuase my card got eaten by the machine lol wen i was done went down to murdoch to meet with Xing and Ning.. and we ate Asian food.. saw Bos.. Phil.. and one of their friends.. after that i had t ogo down to Hilaries to see My old Snooker team play.. they won 8-4 soo yeah that was cool.. i left early though to go down to bos's house with Jas , Ning and Xing.. Met Bos and his friends which was pretty cool.. Bought a Blue Label and a Carton of Beers.. Joe came down not long after.. chilled awhile then went home :D

Day 5( 1st )
Tuesday was actually planning on going out with the guys to watch a movie.. but woke up abit late.. couldnt make it.. went down to adimas's place hanged out then decided to go play soccer lol i couldnt play becuase i couldnt breath ( thats sucks) but the rest did.. after that went to summerville had dinner.. Joe was gonna go out with someone.. soo he left not too long after.. hanged out at adimas's house then went home not long after

Day 6 (2nd)
woke up at around 11 to head down to Curtin Tavern to meet up with Punjab and Tee to get afew drinks haha afew drinks turned out abit too much for punjab boy.. he decided to get kicked out of the tavern then crash his car to a wall next to the tavern.. Helllaaa Funny.. drove him and his car back to Adimas's place.. yeah and we were just at Adimas's place til late arvo then joe , me , xing and Kenneth decided to go for a walk becuase adi's house stinks.. :P went for a walk.. decided we should go rent a movie or something to watch and have an early night.. but adi's Card has over due dvd's and kenneths doesnt seem to work.. soo yeah Joe went down to freo.. to meet up with his friends.. while me , Xing and ning went to Northbridge to hang out with Jas , Gary and Johnson.. played pool for drinks and we all know who won the most :P drank heaps then went to maccas' later in the night to eat.. then we went home.. :D:D By right i was ment to go to Leederville to drink til late.. but i was soo tired from drinking the whole week :P

Day 7 (3rd)
Thursday.. woke up pretty early went down to the city with the rest.. went shopping.. bought my new DCs JK9s haha they're sick.. got afew shirts.. and a jumper from YD.. lol after that had to rush home quickly to drop my stuff of at home then to go to Garbo to do more shopping but by the time i got there was about.. 8 (sorry to keep the boys waiting) hanged out til 9+ then met up with Dan and Them to go fishing lol.. it was hella cold.. couldnt stand it.. only got home at around 5.30am from fishing.. was hell tired..

Day 8 (4th) Final full day
Woke up late.. went to Adi's place.. to chill out til night.. bought heaps of drinks.. drank hanged out.. fight.. aruge.. tok crap.. yeah the normal stuff lol.. had heaps of fun and tears..

Day 9 (5th) leaving time
Woke up early.. forgot i left my bad at adi's house.. got my mum to drop me off.. to pick it up.. got there and found adi's front door unlocked.. i was like.. ok .. they all must've went to sleep.. and forgot to lock it.. got in.. saw Ron Bright and early.. watching tv.. lol.. saw ben in bed.. and adi in bed.. and Punjab passed out on the floor.. lol got my bad. sed bye and left.. man i wish i was still there.. lol caught our flight at around 3.30pm.. and just slept til about half way.. talked to ning about "if we should just to back to Perth and Study or go to Melb" still havent decided til today..

Bubs.. I've got something to say...

I have a curfew now.. You guys are gonna laugh at me.. but now.. I ahve to be home by 12am on fridays and sats... and on normal weekdays.. i'll have to be home straight from work..
Tragic I know.. It sounds totally tragic... =( Uhm... but if we're going out after my parents sleep.. that is still possible unless I come home before they REALLY wake up.. lol~ tragic... tragic..
So it means I will be partying much lesser.. *boohoo* I'll miss you bubssss...

I wanna CLUB!!!!!!!! *sigh* oh well... maybe i'd become MIA like Joe... yeah...

Most of the time we need to go step by step. First, probing the surface looking for any sign of trouble or unwelcome luck.
